About Iain Lindley
ABOUT me
Hi - I’m Iain. I’ve loved the Lake District since spending countless May bank holidays there as a child, and over recent years I’ve rediscovered my love not only of the Lake District fells but also wandering across green (and not so green) spaces in all their many wonderful forms.
I’m ticking off the 214 Wainwright fells in the Lake District (as at September 2024, I’m nearly there - 192 completed and just 22 to go!) and on a more sedate level I also enjoy strolling along canal towpaths and walking routes closer to home in Salford. Further afield, I’ve always enjoyed visiting Switzerland, and more recently I’ve discovered the delights of the levada trails in Madeira. I’m also slowly ticking off my list of World Heritage Sites (mainly in the UK, but also far beyond).
By day I’m a communications professional, and in a past life I was a local Councillor for 15 years. I wanted to share some of my stories (and photographs) as I explore the North West of England and beyond. It would be lovely to think that one or two people were inspired to go out and explore by an article on this website, but even if not, the enjoyment of recounting the places I’ve visited is more than reward enough. I hope you enjoy the site.
