The Salford Trail stage six: Walkden to Worsley

I’m walking all ten stages of the Salford Trail, in completely the wrong order. To start, I tackled stage six from Walkden to Worsley via Ellenbrook and Boothstown.

Exploring Chat Moss

I’m used to climbing up fells, so the peatlands of Chat Moss make for a very different landscape to my usual walks. Nonetheless they make for a fascinating wander, which gave me the chance to put together another short film for my YouTube channel.

The Locks With No Canal: Ashton's Field

At Ashton’s Field between Walkden and Little Hulton, there is a flight of four ornamental locks… but where is the canal? I made another foray onto YouTube to find out!

Salford's Highest Point: Newcombe Drive

I used my daily walk to visit the highest point in the City of Salford - Newcombe Drive at a mighty 116m (381ft) above sea level.
